Heckmann Metall- und Maschinenbau GmbH in Bremen is acquiring W. Ziemann Elektrotechnik GmbH in Bremen on January 1, 2025, expanding its portfolio to include electrical engineering and automation. In the future, Heckmann will be able to supply turnkey systems that not only provide mechanical design and manufacturing directly in-house, but also the electrification, control hardware, and software. Customers benefit from a reduction in interfaces within the development and production process.

Frank Ziemann and his employees will remain on board. Founded in 1965 and ISO 9001-certified since 1996, the company brings decades of expertise and a top-class customer base from the automotive supply, aerospace, and steel industries, as well as the public sector. The quality and innovation culture of both companies complement each other perfectly.

This will create a competence center for plant engineering and automation in Bremen, where engineers, master craftsmen, and specialists will pool their expertise. The joint range of services will cover the entire process chain: project planning and design, mechanical manufacturing, control cabinet construction, sensor technology, software development, assembly, commissioning, and maintenance.

With this step, Heckmann is sending a strong signal for growth and future viability, strengthening its market position and opening up additional opportunities for existing and new customers for holistic, high-end solutions from a single source.
